MyChart Redesign

I redesigned the mobile app for MyChart in a way that makes it more accessible to a diverse audience. This project involved creating a persona and task flow and then implementing a visual system that can help the user accomplish their goal as easily as possible.

Revised Guidelines

The challenge for this project was to redesign the layout and aesthetics of an existing app. I chose the MyChart app and focused specifically on the task flow for scheduling an appointment with a doctor. Since the app has an older userbase I wanted to focus on making the app as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Typeface Accessibility

the typeface that I chose for the app is Atkison Hyperlegibel which is a typeface specifically designed for the visually impaired. What makes Atkinson different from other typefaces is that it focuses on letterform distinction to increase character recognition and improve readability.

Key Screens

After forming the task flow I developed these screens to decide how the new brand identity will be implemented throughout the app’s layout design and hierarchy.

The main taskflow for this project is to schedule a doctor’s appointment following the steps:

Add Insurance - Sign in - Adjust accessibility - search for doctors - view more appointments - select 10:45 a.m. appointment on July 6th - confirm the appointment

Persona

Before designing the app I wanted to create a persona to help me further understand the needs of my target audience, meet David. David is a middle-aged man with heart/vision problems who is trying to live a healthier and happier life
